This page will feature personal stories about Studebaker and Studebakers. We encourage all to submit their stories for inclusion here.

Studebaker Stories

Our first set of stories are from J. L. Jacobson, a long time Studebaker owner, proud member of the Studebaker Drivers Club, and a member of a family with over 100 years combined tenure as Studebaker employees. Mr. Jacobson's combination of Studebaker history and personal stories is a great read. Click here and enjoy!

The Breakdown and the Blessing

Next we have the story from Wendy Crosby of a couple's first International Studebaker Meet, the unexpected trouble they encountered on the way, and an unlikely and heart warming resolution.Click here to read all about it.

Childhood Memories Minimize

My Dad owned 6 Studebakers after World War II  and 2 before the war. When I was growing up I didn't know that there was another type of car made.  We had a 1953 Champion when we lived in Vidor, Texas (near Beaumont) and we made a trip to Roanoke, Virginia to see my sister. Being just a kid I remember how roomy and comfortable the back seat was.

My Dad had changed the oil regularly but when we got back he didn't get a chance to change the oil for a good while. But when he did change it I told him the dirty oil looked as clean as the new. All of my brothers and my sister have owned at least one Studebaker. I have never owned a Studebaker myself. When I had the money I couldn't find a Studebaker, and when I did find one I didn't have the money to get it. Last Year in Longview, Texas I found a 1938 Studebaker.  I wanted it real bad. I was thinking about trading my wife in for it.  But the owner didn't want any thing that eats!

But I hope and pray that before I die I will own a Studebaker and I hope it will be my favorite, the 1953 Loewy Coupe.
